Authentically You: Biz Bio Workshop
I have to admit that writing my own business "About Me" and introducing myself online made me cringe. You might think that I'd have no problem, I’m a writer after all!
And yet, the Brit in me hates blowing my own trumpet, and years of project writing had me talking about myself in the third person and using jargon: “Nadia is…” Ugh. I sounded weird and zombie-like. So, I started to play with first person, “I”. Unfortunately, I would add personal details that I regretted sharing and ended up deleting the posts.
I came to realise that these bios aren’t really about ME, they're about me IN RELATION to my client. It’s what he or she is looking for while scanning the bio thinking, “Can I connect with this person? Is buying from her the right decision?”
I’ve come across so many entrepreneurs feeling awkward, embarrassed or bored by their bio. Let’s change that!
In my Zoom workshop, "Authentically You", you'll learn how different kinds of language resonates, how to express yourself without cliché, buzzwords or sounding like everyone else, and how to wink at those you'd really like to work with. Each time you learn a skill, you'll practise it then and there for immediate feedback from me and from other participants (who may be your ideal client!).
You'll leave with copy that presents an authentic "you", BUT I didn't want to stop there, I wanted to offer you more.
I know the value of time to mull over and practise what I've learned, so I'm inviting each and every participant to a complimentary half-hour follow-up 1:1 session with me to tweak the bios for different platforms (as you'll need one bio for your Facebook business page and another for your website).
So, if you'd like to write a bio that resonates with your ideal clients and which you’ll be proud of sharing, CLICK HERE!
Hi! I'm Nadia Jacobson, and I've been writing since childbirth (almost). As a writer, I conjure up palpable worlds into existence, and I know that all it takes is an awkward sentence to jolt the reader from that fictional dream. I'd like to teach you how precision of language will connect you with your audience and keep them engaged.
