You know you can write well. You may write for work or used to love writing a while back. BUT when it comes to writing the story you want to tell...
You never seem to find the time and space to write creatively Or you stare at the blank page and the words just don't come Your inner critic attacks every word you write Or you feel you've lost your creative mojo
Create a writing habit togive oxygen to your writer's soul!
No one sees the world or has an imagination quite like you. It's time to write YOUR story down.
The Art of Storytelling workshop will help you...
Get beyond the blank page: heighten your observational skills so you can write anytime, anywhere Learn your strengths: which storytelling elements come naturally, write to your strengths & add new elements Read as a writer: you'll understand how stories are constructed (without losing the magic) Give feedback to others and yourself: learn to offer constructive critique that encourages, rather than deflates Be part of a community: meet like-minded writers and form a support system to keep you going
You will learn...
To include elements of the writer's toolkit, such as characterisation, description, point of view, plot, and pacing. To write a story you can be proud of, a story enriched by the skills you've learned.
What will I do in each class?
Learn a skill through texts and discussion. Practise that skill through fun and thought-provoking writing exercises. Share your work (if you wish) for immediate constructive feedback. Warning! You will be writing a lot each week, nurtured by this safe and supportive environment.
What do students have to say?
‘Much more than a creative writing workshop. Beyond giving me tools to enrich my writing, it triggered a process of self-discovery that led me to uncover my deepest passions and true desires.' - Anya S
‘The course was deeply inspiring and reinforced why I love the craft of writing. And, even more importantly, it motivated me to invest more time in my writing. The class provided a safe space to share work - which is both confronting and necessary to grow as a writer. Nadia taught me that I won't have great writing days every day, or even every other day, and that's OK ... as long as I persist. - Sari Nossbaum

I AM SO EXCITED. YES, I'M IN!
Hi! I'm Nadia. I was the teenager whose parents got concerned calls from the English teacher because she believed what I wrote in my creative writing exercises. While this should have given me confidence ('Great, I write convincing prose!'), I felt exposed and this sent me underground for years. I wrote on the sly or sent postcard fiction (before it was a "thing") with outrageous holiday tales to friends and family to see whether they believed me. This formative experience made me passionate about helping writers write whatever they wanted to write in a safe and supportive environment.
+ MA in English Literature & Creative Writing, Bar-Ilan University + published fiction and memoir in literary journals & anthologies * fiction editor at the Ilanot Review * two interweaving novels are in the works
