Who we are, what we do, and why we do it

We believe that everyone has a story to tell, and what is needed are the tools and a conducive environment in order to write it. WriteSpace Jerusalem provides a nurturing and structured creative environment that encourages students to deepen and expand their commitment to writing.

We seek to provide a platform for quality continuing education for English-language writers in Jerusalem. Writers will be able to hone areas of their choosing, building a program that is tailored to their needs. Visiting and local authors are invited to come and teach classes in their areas of expertise. We are open to all genres: fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, screenwriting, playwriting, children's literature, young adult, and hybrid.

The concept is simple. If enough people are interested in a seminar or workshop, we will run it. We aim to be responsive. You tell us what you'd like to learn, and we'll track down someone excellent to teach you. If you prefer private lessons or mentoring, we'll be happy to find you the right instructor, and when it comes to editing your completed manuscript, we'd be happy to put you in touch with the best editor for your style of writing.
