This workshop will explore the craft of writing in a wide array of genres, including fiction, personal essay, memoir, playwriting, slam poetry, poetry, fantasy & visual journaling (interplay of word & image). Instructor Bios:
Jane Medved is the poetry editor of The Ilanot Review, an Israeli international journal of creative writing in English. Her full length poetry collection Deep Calls To Deep won the Many Voices Project in Poetry (2016) and is forthcoming from New Rivers Press.. Her chapbook, Olam, Shana, Nefesh was released by Finishing Line Press in 2014. Recent work has appeared inMudlark, Tinderbox Poetry Journal, Cimarron Review, Spoon River Poetry Review, Tupelo Quarterly and New American Writing. Rachel Stomel is a writer, translator, spoken word poet, activist, and host of the monthly Jerusalem Poetry Slam. She is passionate about converting abstract ideals into communicable forms and believes that spoken word poetry can change the world.
