s a theatre director specialising in writing and developing comedic pieces, I've enjoyed helping others hone their work to engineer the response that they want. In these seminars, we will look at how to craft comedic writing in a variety of formats from jokes to stories to sketches to topical comment.

Building Comic Characters:
Exercises that excise the funny from factual information
Comedic structure in writing 
Joke styles and why they work 
Finding your comic voice
(3 hours - 250 NIS)

Shaping Dialogue & Description:
Exploration of types of comedy and narrators,
Funny characters that aren't all about the punchline
Comedy in dialogue
Humorous description
(6 hours - 400 NIS)

Rachel Creeger is an award-winning director, performer and playwright specialising in new writing and comedy. She has over 50 credits to her name, from scratch performances to full productions in West End venues. 2016 highlights include developing and directing "Dear Daughter" by Ria Lina, which won the award for Best Comedy Show in the Greater Manchester Fringe before transferring for a critically acclaimed run in Edinburgh, and Abi Roberts 5* reviewed sell out show "Anglichanka”, nominated for a Funny Women Award. In 2015 she directed and co-produced the sell-out tour and Edinburgh run of dark Jewish comedy "Mancunian Rhapsody" by Debra Tammer. Rachel was also the assistant director and co-producer of the 5* reviewed, award nominated shows Hamlet Peckham and Othello Peckham. Notable personal writer/director credits include "An Insomniac's Guide To Ambulances" (4* reviews and pick of the Fringe), "Staffroom" (most audience recommended production of the Camden Fringe 2012) and many commissioned plays for children. Under “Time2Shine Productions” Rachel delivers school workshops and helps community groups devise original theatre from concept to performance.
Rachel hosts monthly comedy nights for grown ups - ‘Upstairs at the Adam and Eve!’ - in North London and 'Below Stairs at Blacks' in SoHo, as well as children’s comedy gigs. She is currently working on her new play, "Our Still Waters, about a group of Jewish women whose lives intersect via a mikvah.
