I can never find the time to sit and write?
I sit down to write and feel I've lost my creative mojo?

Read as a writer: you'll understand how stories are constructed (without losing the magic)
Give feedback to others and yourself: learn to offer constructive critique that encourages, rather than deflates

‘The course was deeply inspiring and reinforced why I love the craft of writing. And, even more importantly, it motivated me to invest more time in my writing. The prompts and exercises during class were challenging in ways I didn't expect (in a positive way) and proved that magic can sometimes materialize in just ten minutes. It was such a treat to delve into the complexity and layers of writing and analyze different texts and ideas. And this in turn taught me how to be a more astute reader. The class provided a safe space to share work - which is both confronting and necessary to grow as a writer. Nadia taught me that I won't have great writing days every day, or even every other day, and that's OK... as long as I persist. I highly recommend this course for anyone who is an aspiring or experienced writer. No matter what your level, everyone can gain something from this course.'

Hi! I'm Nadia. I was the teenager whose parents got concerned calls from the English teacher because she believed what I wrote in my creative writing exercises. While this should have given me confidence ('Great, I write convincing prose!'), I felt exposed and this sent me underground for years. I wrote on the sly or sent postcard fiction (before it was a "thing") with outrageous holiday tales to friends and family to see whether they believed me. This formative experience made me passionate about helping writers write whatever they wanted to write in a safe and supportive environment.

+ MA in English Literature & Creative Writing, Bar-Ilan University

More from Story Foundation graduates . . .

‘Story Foundations is much more than a creative writing workshop. Beyond giving me tools to enrich my writing, it triggered a process of self-discovery that led me to uncover my deepest passions and true desires.' - Anya S.

'I've really enjoyed the 10-week course with Nadia and Batnadiv - fascinating information and new techniques, engaging readings, fun writing prompts, and a teaching balance that works very well. I have re-ignited my creative juices, learnt a lot, and slipped back into the habit of writing every day! - Danny Verbov

'Nadia is a fantastic writing teacher. She cultivates a very warm and encouraging environment for writers. Her teaching style encourages one to dig deep and discover their writing potential. Her classes transformed my attitude to writing and motivated me to keep going.’ - Tanya M

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if this is the right workshop for me?
I want you to be sure that this is the right course for you. If you have any doubts, let's chat.
Drop me a line or fix a time for us to chat.

Why am I required to submit a sample of my writing?
I want to make absolutely sure that this is the right choice for you. For that I need to know where you are in your writing journey I ask for a small sample of writing - as little as 500 words or as long as 1000 words - to gauge your command of English and your level of writing. It will also help me tailor the course to each person's needs.

What happens if I miss a session?
It happens to the best of us. We make plans and life gets in the way. I get it. That's why I record sessions and you're welcome to watch or listen to a digital recording for up to two weeks afterwards.

I've never written creatively before. Is this the right workshop for me?
We have all written in some form on another. If you are passionate about writing and want to write creatively, I would love to support you in any way I can. Email me or schedule a time to chat and we’ll figure out what will move you forward on your writing journey.

What is a live online workshop?
A live online workshop means joining a video conference. It means you can attend the workshop virtually from the comfort of your own home. All you need, to be a part of the conversation are headphones, and access to video and audio on your phone or computer. Download the latest version on Zoom. You'll receive an invite to join the Zoom meeting via email. If you can't make it, you can always watch or listen to the recording.
